Jimmy Hellerich Bio

Jimmy HellerichJimmy began playing guitar in the fourth grade. He wrote his first song in the eight, called “Freddy the Frog”.  Jimmy loved listening to Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Neil Diamond during his formative years.  Jimmy used to go to school and try to convince his classmates that Cash and Lewis was the whole Rock-n-Roll world as he knew it.

Jimmy grew up on a Pig Ranch raising 1000 head a year with his Grandpa (J.W. Harris). Life on the farm, Rockabilly sounds from Cash and Lewis coupled with the Diamond twist became a driving force in the musical brain of singer songwriter James P. Hellerich.

Jimmy started the Pig Farmer band in 1992. Recording his original music and rocked up twisted covers was and still is the foundation that keeps Jimmy and the band ticking. Since Jimmy’s first trip to Nashville and catching the Nashville music bug. Jimmy has took Pig Farmer to record four cds Pig Farmer, Squealer, Hambone and most current Mountain Oysters.
